Lion Blanket

25in tall by 27in wide. Tunisian crochet simple stitch for the background in the middle, granny square crochet around to achieve size.

baby blanket for my cousin's first child due in May. i was originally going to cross stitch this lion.. made from a cartoon color page.. but i messed up and had some mistakes on the graph that i made... so i got really aggravated and put it down for weeks... then momma reminded me i really need to get it done.. so i decide to make an applique and sew it to the blanket.. i have made a tractor applique before, and forgot how much i greatly enjoy making them... anyhow.. back to the subject... I cross stitched the L and K for his initials. i knew i wanted to do something cross stitch.. and this was simple and pretty.

oh yeh, forgot to mention, the face is stuffed, and the mane is not completely tacked down on the edges, it flaps. so the baby will be more interested in it, as he grew...

i didnt write the pattern down as i went, but may decide to try before i give it away.. its so cute and simple, even though i know not everyone is going to like it.. maybe a few may want it...

so, what do you think?any tips, suggestions, or request? greatly appreciated!
